With great communication comes connection.

Meet the Founders
Michelle Santorio
M.S. CCC-SLP
Michelle started her career over 10 years ago working in Early Intervention for Early Steps, a government funded program that provides children speech and language services from birth to 3 years old. Since then, she has worked in the private sector treating school aged children as well as various rehab settings in some of the nation’s largest and highly recognized hospitals across South Florida, treating both children and adults. She has mentored and supervised students and new clinicians along the way, always trying to find ways to leave her mark in the industry. She is a certified vital stimulation therapy provider for patients with swallowing disorders, has established new community support groups for adults who suffer from Aphasia, and assisted in creating new protocols to integrate speech therapy with the Head and Neck Cancer population on a system wide hospital level. Some of her passion projects include special accreditations in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) setting, Traumatic Brain Injury specialization courses, and now the world of teletherapy.
Her most recent and prized passion project has been having a child of her own which proved to be the most rewarding challenge. To be able to implement both her professional and personal skills to cultivate her son’s skills in a multilingual home, was very important to her. The idea behind Theraplay Kits came from interactions she created with her son using common toys in the household.
“The therapist in me was always thinking of ways to build my son’s language skills while still allowing him to just play and be a kid. I thought being able to assist other busy parents with this important part of their child’s development through a guided playkit would be an overall win-win for both the parent and the child, despite them needing speech therapy or not.”
Jessica Musick

She obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of South Florida in Communication Sciences and Disorders and her Masters of Science from Nova Southeastern University in Speech-Language Pathology. She began her career working for Citrus Health Network as an Early Intervention Specialist. Her role consisted of identifying communication impairments in preschool aged children and acting as a liaison in coordinating early intervention services. Once completing her graduate studies she launched her practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist working in various settings. She has developed ample knowledge treating children and adults with speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing deficits.
Some of her greatest accomplishments to date include prior established and successful speech pathology practices and working for Mount Sinai Medical Center where she developed and lead an inpatient rehab program, coordinated educational programs for graduate students, and played an essential part in developing a NICU program focused on feeding and swallowing for premature infants, and educated and trained new clinicians to promote professional development. Jessica has also been able to provide speech-language services to school aged children via teletherapy while employed with Miami Dade Public School system. Jessica’s focus and passion throughout her career has been creating new and innovative ways to improve her clients’ impairments and assisting those around her to provide the same caliber of care. Through her experiences she has grown to be a valuable resource to her community in the realm of speech-language pathology. Jessica currently resides in Miami, Florida and holds licensure in Florida, Texas, and California.
Our Story
With the recent turn of global events, Michelle and Jessica, former colleagues and now great friends, were both at a turn in their careers where they wanted to be challenged in a different way. They decided to come together using their combined skill set and offer their services in the convenience of their clients’ homes via Talk Theraplay. The emergence of telepractice allowed the two clinicians to seize a window of opportunity to establish one of the first bilingual online private practices in their area.
“Our mission is to serve and educate parents, children, and adults across the globe who have lost basic communication skills, in efforts to help them continue benefiting from one of life’s most precious gifts- connection.”
